Free Seminar: Varicose Veins & the Newest Treatment Options
Varicose veins are a true medical problem that worsens over time. A leading vein expert will give a free presentation Oct. 22 in Manahawkin

A medical expert will provide a free presentation on varicose veins this month in Manahawkin. Jeffrey Hager, DO, FACOS, will speak on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 2 pm at Meridian Fitness and Wellness. The facility is located at 700 South Main Street, West Creek, NJ 08092.
Dr. Hager’s talk will include how to know if you need treatment, and the latest non-surgical techniques -- which are often pain-free, require little recovery time and are covered by many health insurance plans.
“Most people don’t realize that varicose veins are a true medical problem,” notes Dr. Hager, a board-certified vascular surgeon with more than 25 years of experience. “If you don’t treat varicose veins, they continue to worsen, become more painful and swollen, and eventually damage the skin. “

Dr. Hager will also speak about carotid artery disease and stroke prevention on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 2 pm at the same location (Meridian Fitness and Wellness in Manahawkin).
Carotid artery disease – the build-up of waxy substances in the carotid arteries – is a leading cause of stroke. The good news: the condition is highly treatable.
Dr. Hager will discuss the risk factors for carotid artery disease, the importance of screenings for the condition, treatment and prevention.
“It’s hard to tell if you have this condition, so it’s very important to be checked, especially if you smoke, are overweight, sedentary, or have high cholesterol,” says Dr. Hager, who offers free carotid artery screenings through the nonprofit Care to Be Aware Foundation.
