George Harry Moore, World War II Navy Veteran, Dies At 90
Graveside service for Ship Bottom resident will be held on Tuesday in South River.

George Harry Moore, 90, of Ship Bottom and formerly of Highland Park, died peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2015, at the home of his daughter in Spotswood.
George was born in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania and raised in Highland Park until settling in Ship Bottom in the early 1990s. For many years, he spent his winters in Stuart, Florida.
He served in the US Navy during WWII and then served as a reservist in the Korean conflict. He retired as a supervisor from RCA Global Communications of New York City, NY, where he was employed for 38 years. He was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and making jewelry.
Predeceased by his wife, Elsie Moore in 2000 and his sister, Lillian Gilliam, he is survived by his daughters, Susan Wilhelmsen and her husband Thomas, of Spotswood and Carole Adams and her husband Brad, of Stuart, VA; his sister, Harriet McIntire of Iowa, and; four grandchildren, Brad Adams, Ashley Gatchel, Leah Gannon and Julie Wilhelmsen.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Washington Monumental Cemetery in South River, under the direction of Spotswood Funeral Home.
