George J. Rakoskie Of Ship Bottom Dies At 55

George J. Rakoskie, 55, of Ship Bottom, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014.

George was born on Dec. 5, 1958, the son of the late Charlotte S. Rakoskie and Joseph J. Rakoskie. He was the younger brother of Cheryl R. Smith. George was raised in Green Village, New Jersey and attended Southern Boulevard Elementary, Lafayette Middle School and Chatham Township High School. George was an exceptional fullback and captain of the varsity football team.

George went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of West Virginia. He spent most of his career in the gaming industry and enjoyed his co-workers and his job.

George was the loving husband and best friend of Lisa Rakoskie, father to Gatsby V. Rakoskie. He loved the beach and entertaining his friends. George was all about the surf, he enjoyed surfboarding, body surfing, and surf fishing. George had an engaging smile and loved to tell stories and remember old times. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
