Gruesome Details In Barnegat Light Murder Emerge
Authorities claim suspect returned to Central Avenue home to clean up around firefighter's body.

A former NYFD firefighter found murdered in his Barnegat Light home in November was so severely beaten with a golf club that his skull was fractured and he was nearly decapitated when his neck was slashed, according to nj.com
Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Meghan O’Neill relayed the grim details in a Dec. 18 in Ocean County Superior Court in an effort to keep suspect Conrad Sipa’s bail at $1 million cash.
Sipa, 52, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose in connection with the death of his friend, Richard P. Doody.

Doody was struck so hard with the golf club that the graphite neck of the club split, and his neck was severed “so severely that his trachea was cut through and through,” O’Neill said.
Sipa, Colts Neck, also returned to the home several times by cleaning up around Doody’s body, authorities said.

O’Neill said Sipa’s fingerprints were found in Doody’s bloody home. But DNA tests have not come back yet to confirm the blood is Doody’s.
Sipa’s E-Z Pass records show he went to Doody’s home before and after the murder, she said.
Ocean County Superior Court Judge Rochelle Gizinski agreed to change the conditions of Sipa’s $1 million cash-only bail to a bond.
