How Barnegat Will Recognize Memorial Day's True Meaning

BARNEGAT, N.J. — Barnegat Township will honor the true meaning of Memorial Day all weekend. Barnegat's American Legion Auxiliary announced several ways service members who lost their lives will be recognized.

The Boy Scouts and several veterans will place flags on veterans' graves throughout Barnegat on Saturday. An annual ceremony will take place at the Gazebo in downtown Barnegat at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Barnegat's Memorial Day parade takes place Monday morning. Lineup starts at 9 a.m. before the 10 a.m. parade. The Legion Family will line up on the corner of Birdsall and East Bay Avenue.

The parade walks down Route 9 to the Legion, where a ceremony will take place with hot dogs and soda.
