Irish Festival Hits Manahawkin This Saturday

The free event features Irish entertainment, foods, crafts and more.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — In a few days, you'll hear bagpipes in the distance. That's because the Ocean County Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh Irish Festival takes place 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Manahawkin Lake Park.

The free event features Irish amusement, foods, crafts and more. Entertainment will ranges from step dancers to bagpipes.

50/50 tickets will also be for sale. First prize earns 25 percent of ticket revenue, second place gets 15 percent and third prize nets 10 percent. Tickets cost $5 each for the 7 p.m. drawing.

Don't forget to bring a chair so you can set up shop the whole day.

Children's amusement will include a bounce house, train and other inflatables.

The band lineup includes The Captain & O'Neill, The Eammon Ryan Band, and Bloody Callan.
