June Marie Bordwick Federico Of Beach Haven Dies At 75

June Marie Bordwick Federico passed peacefully into eternal rest with her family at her side on June 13, 2016. She was 75.

She was born in Beach Haven  and was in the first graduating class of Southern Regional High School. She graduated Trenton State College in 1962 with a B.A. in Education. She worked briefly for the South Plainfield School District but spent the majority of her career teaching special education for the Somerville School District. 

While teaching full time she went back to Trenton State College and earned a master's degree in education in 1994. After retiring in June of 1999, she returned to Long Beach Island with her husband. 

June was an avid reader; she enjoyed spending time at the Beach Haven Public Library. She also loved long walks on the beach with her dog, riding her bike and kayaking on the bay. A testament to her selflessness and commitment to helping others, she inspired all three of her children to go into public service occupations. 

She was preceded in death by her mother Marie Bathalter Bordwick and her father William Bordwick. She is survived by her adoring husband of over 50 years, Francesco "Frank" Federico, her three children, Stephen Federico of Napa, California, Maria Federico of Hillsborough, NJ, William Federico of Whitehouse Station, NJ and her brother John Bordwick of Stafford Township. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Daniel, Hope, Cameron, Andie and Paige.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at the  Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m.on Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave., Somerville. Interment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Beach Haven Public Library, 247 N Beach Ave., Beach Haven, NJ 08008 (609)-492-7081.
