BARNEGAT, NJ — There's a lot of news to keep up with right now — locally, nationally and worldwide. Here's a recap of coronavirus updates in Barnegat and Manahawkin.

Cases

The Ocean County Health Department has reported 147 positive cases in Barnegat and 132 in Stafford as of Sunday morning. The OCHD will provide daily updates here.

The department has reported 4,520 cases in Ocean County as of Sunday morning. State officials have counted 212 deaths from the virus in the county.

Schools

New Jersey schools will be closed through at least May 15, Governor Phil Murphy announced Thursday. MORE.

Testing

Coronavirus testing will remain at Ocean County College after all. The County reversed its decision Friday to move the drive-thru testing site to the Ocean County Fire and First Aid Training Center in Waretown.

“Starting April 20, we are moving from the parking lot at Ocean County College to a more secure structure that will be more helpful to the hospital workers and other staff that will be administering the test,” said Ocean County Sheriff Michael G. Mastronardy.
