LBI Officials Nix Trenton Legislator's Bill To Consolidate Island Towns
Assemblyman Reed Gusciora wants to merge Long Beach Island Towns and share major services.

“While Assemblyman Gusciora may be persistent in his efforts to personally redraw the map of Ocean County in an image he sees fit, we are just as determined to stop this ill-conceived and undemocratic attempt at forced consolidation, the letter states.
Gusciora's bill calls for the consolidation of Barnaget Light, Beach Haven, Harvery Cedars, Long Beach Township, Ship Bottom and Surf City into one municipality to be called Long Beach Island Township, or shared services for all major services.
