'Let's Make Barnegat A Sea Of Blue:' Mayor
Barnegat's mayor encourages residents to display blue ribbons to honor the slain Dallas law enforcement officers.

Barnegat, NJ -- Barnegat Mayor John J. Novak is encouraging township residents to display blue ribbons tho show support for the law enforcement officers shot and killed in Dallas.
Novak issued the following statement Monday:
“I am devastated and appalled at the wanton slaughter of Police Officers in Dallas, Texas. It is a blight on the very fabric of America. I ask everyone to join me and my family in offering prayers for our fallen Heroes and their families. I have contacted the Governor’s office asking permission to have all municipal flags lowered to half-mast in honor of these Officers," he said.

Novak said anyone who wants a blue ribbon to display "as a symbol of our support and mourning for these fallen knights can contact me directly and I will supply you with one at no charge."
The ribbons can be worn on clothing, hung from car antennas, mailboxes, doors and other places, he said.

Ribbons also can be picked up in in Town Hall, Novak said.
"Let's make Barnegat a sea of blue as we unite to honor these slain Heroes!" Novak said.
