Libertarian Brian Pizza Joins the Race for Ocean County Freeholder

This year a local entrepreneur is throwing his hat into the ring as the Libertarian candidate for Ocean County Freeholder. Brian Pizza, a lifelong Ocean County resident, will be facing off against incumbent Joseph Vicari, who has served on the Board of Freeholders for over 32 years.

Brian is proud to call Ocean County his home. He attended Ocean County College, where he graduated with an Associate’s degree in Engineering. Brian completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Rutgers University. Though this is his first campaign for any political office, Brian has been involved in the liberty movement for many years. He wants to provide Ocean County residents the opportunity to be eased of the gross financial burden Big Government places on them.

Brian states, “According to tax-rates.org, New Jersey suffers under one of the highest average property tax rates in the country. Residents of Ocean County pay almost 7% of their annual income toward their property taxes. This oppressive tax burden is a leading reason so many people flee New Jersey, and Ocean County, in droves. In addition New Jersey ranks 48th out of the 50 states for both personal and economic freedom, in a 2013 survey. This is unacceptable.”

He continues, “There’s really no difference between Republican and Democrat parties today. One just spends tax payer money faster than the other. The Libertarian Party is the only growing political party in New Jersey and only party with real solutions. What are these solutions? Limiting the government to the confines of the Constitution and letting the private sector flourish by removing government road blocks and regulations.”
