Little Egg Harbor cops take an undisclosed "action" to remedy an undisclosed "condition" that was discovered during the investigation of my Internal Affairs complaint.

From reading the material at the link here, readers will see that:

1. The Little Egg Harbor Internal Affairs Unit cleared Officer Christopher Costa of harassing resident Ricky Brown because "the investigation failed to yield enough evidence."  But, the investigation made the IA Unit "aware of a condition for which the department has since taken appropriate action."

2. The Little Egg Harbor Township attorney does not consider me the formal complainant in the issue of whether Officer Joel E. Mahr issued a summons to Ricky Brown in retaliation for him having given me the information that led to my IA complaint against Costa.  Accordingly, I am not entitled to know the outcome of the IA investigation into Officer Mahr.

Question: Does the level of secrecy surrounding Internal Affairs matters serve or work against the public's best interest?
