Manahawkin Doc Facing Possible Jail Time, Fines, For Pushing Oxycodone
Liviu Holca pleaded guilty to money laundering and distributing oxycodone.

A Manahawkin physician could lose his license and spend almost a year in jail for peddling oxycodone to patients in his practice on Beacon Drive.
Liviu Holca, 58, pleaded guilty in late March in Ocean County Superior Court to money laundering and distributing oxycodone in exchange for the dismissal of 22 other charges, according to app.com.
Holca - who practiced family medicine - is due to be sentenced by Superior Court Judge Wendel E. Daniels on May 27. He could spend up to 364 days in the Ocean County Jail and stands to lose his license, which has already been suspended.

He is also facing forfeiture of more than $100,000 seized during raids of his home and office in January 2014.
The lengthy investigation also resulted in the seizure drugs and several loaded firearms. Holca had the firearms legally, but will not be able to keep them because he is a now a convicted criminal.
