Manahawkin Man Dies in One-Car Crash On Route 195

A 66-year-old Stafford Township man died Friday when he lost control of his car on Route 195 East for some unknown reason, hit several trees and flipped, according to app.com.

Robert Augustine was pronounced dead at the scene near Exit 16 about 2:20 pm. He was the only person in the 2005 silver Toyota RAV4, car, State Police Sgt. Gregory Williams said.

A medical helicopter was on the way to the accident scene when it was cancelled, Trooper Alejandro Goez said.

The right eastbound lane of the highway was closed for two hours for an investigation, led to traffic congestion in the area, Williams said.
