Manahawkin Megan's Law Offender Facing Jail Time For Numerous Violations
Thomas J. Scalgione, 44, violated probation, had a police scanner, will now have parole supervision for life.

A Megan's Law offender will be spending the next 364 days in the Ocean County Jail for violating his probation and illegally having a police scanner in his possession, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.
Superior Court Judge Melanie S. Appleby also said that Thomas J. Scalgione, 44, whose last known address was Manahawkin, will now have a new term of parole supervision for life, said spokesman Al Della Fave.
Ocean County Assistant Prosecutor Ehsan F. Chowdhry of the Megan's Law unit said jail time was needed because Scalgione has a high risk of committing a new offense and a lengthy criminal record, Della Fave said.
