Manahawkin Stage IV Cancer Survivor's Charity Hosts Fundraiser
Caldarella beat the odds and survived Stage IV cancer in 2010. But he continues the fight with his charity.

David Caldarella was visiting family in March 2010 when he made a doctor's appointment at Southern Ocean Medical Center. He told the doctor he had trouble swallowing. Within 48 hours, he noticed a lump on his neck.
He received diagnosis the following month for Stage IV squamous cell carcinoma, a form of cancer. But after treatment, Caldarella could declare he beat the odds and survived Stage IV cancer, according to his charity's website.
Caldarella's fight didn't end there. He continues through David's Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation, which raises money for patient grants. The foundation will host a meet-and-greet fundraiser at The Mainland Kitchen + Pub (151 NJ-72, Manahawkin) from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31.
