Matthew J. McDonald, 42, of Manahawkin, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, February 26, 2016. Known to everyone as Matt, he graduated from Lacey Township High School in 1991.
Using his artistic ability, he pursued a career in the auto body business as a painter at Causeway Collision Center in Manahawkin for the past 10 years. Matt’s greatest passion in his life was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, brother in law, and wonderful friend to all who knew him.

His grandparents, Joseph and Josephine Hanek and his mother Nancy Hanek predeceased him. Carrying on his memory with love are his devoted wife Lori McDonald, his sister Sara J. Giberson and her husband Matthew Giberson, along with their children Taylor, Hailie, and Logan Giberson. He is also survived by his sister Denise L. Richter and her husband Corey Richter, along with their children Colin and Nathaniel Richter; Also carrying on his legacy are his Uncle Donald Hanek and wife Lynne Avery, his Uncle Glenn and Aunt Barbara Hanek, as well as many cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, at Layton’s Home For Funerals at 250 West Lacey Rd. Forked River, NJ, 08731.
