Moving Beyond the Storm: Two Events to Remember and Inspire
The Tuckerton First United Methodist Church to host events on Saturday, Nov 8. "This Time Next Year" at 10am, and service of hope at 2pm.

On Saturday November 8, the First United Methodist Church of Tuckerton will host two events to remember the courage and enduring sense of community that dwells among Jersey shore residents. Two years after Superstorm Sandy, the shore remains an unfinished patchwork quilt at different stages of rebuilding homes and lives. Neighbors back in their homes count the few who have returned in their neighborhoods. Others continue to struggle with paperwork and decisions to be made about how to rebuild. Many are looking for their lives and community to resettle.
10 AM: This Time Next Year
This thought-provoking documentary follows the journey of several LBI residents from disaster through the first year of recovery. Co-directors and spouses Jeff Reichert and Farihah Zaman take an intimate look at the emotional struggles many storm survivors endured, and the strength of a community that rises from the mud and debris of the disaster.

Led by Rev. Martha McKee of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, this service will be a time of remembrance and hope for all those who suffered and lost parts of their lives from the storm, and a time to rejoice with those who continue to move through their recovery. The Choir of Victory, featured at the First Presbyterian Church last year, returns to the community to provide inspiration and song.
The public is invited to attend free of charge to come together for these memorable events.
