New Soul Food Restaurant Sets Grand Opening In Barnegat
Andrea's Soul Food Café, with a menu of fried fish, smothered chicken wings, collard greens and more, is opening soon.
BARNEGAT, NJ — If there's one type of food missing from Ocean County, it's soul food. That will change soon with the opening of Andrea's Soul Food Café in Barnegat.
Chow down on delicious Southern cuisine at the restaurant's grand opening on June 3 from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Owner Shakierra Morris hopes to bring an upscale soul food experience to southern Ocean County, according to the Andrea's Soul Food Café website. It's named after her youngest daughter.

It's located at 34 S. Main St., the former location of Big Barlow's BBQ.
The menu boasts Southern classics - smothered fried chicken wings, fried fish and barbecue beef ribs, with sides like cornbread and collard greens. They also offer catering.

Morris also plans to host live jazz musicians at the restaurant, she told the Asbury Park Press. It's "more of an elegant setting," she told APP.
