Ocean County To Move Coronavirus Testing Site To Waretown
Drive-thru testing will take place at the Ocean County Fire and First Aid Training Center beginning next week.
WARETOWN, NJ — Ocean County's drive-thru testing site for the new coronavirus will move to Waretown next week. Testing will begin occurring at the Ocean County Fire and First Aid Training Center on Volunteer Way off Route 9.
The new site includes an indoor drive-thru area, so bad weather won't play a factor. Officials postponed Monday's testing at Ocean County College because of hazardous weather and damage to some of the tents.
The test requirements haven't changed. Patients must meet the following criteria:

- You must be an Ocean County resident and have identification.
- You must have a health-care practitioner script.
- You must make an online appointment at www.ochd.org.
- You must be symptomatic.

“If you have symptoms, you should be returning home immediately after being tested and continue self-quarantining,” said County Public Health Coordinator Daniel Regenye. “If you have the coronavirus, you will be spreading it if you are not isolating.”

Testing will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Residents can begin booking appointments for the Training Center at 3 p.m. Friday.
So far, 1,955 residents were tested for the coronavirus at the Ocean County College site. Of those tests, 1,574 results have been returned. Just under 30 percent of the tests have been positive.
The Ocean County Health Department reported 284 new cases Thursday, bringing the county total 4,254. State officials have reported 185 deaths in Ocean County as of Thursday.
