Ocean County Releases Coronavirus Death Totals By Town
The Ocean County Health Department is awaiting guidance on reporting recovery statistics before publicly disclosing them.
OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — The Ocean County Health Department revealed the number of reported new-coronavirus deaths by town. State officials reported daily the number of deaths in Ocean County, but death info by town was previously undisclosed.
The municipalities with the largest numbers of reported deaths are Lakewood (50), Brick (43), Berkeley (41), Toms River (35) and Manchester (34).
Towns with between one and four deaths were labeled with a "<5" to reduce the risk of patient identification. The totals identify where the patient self-reported their mailing address at the time of testing.
