Patrick Joseph Ward, Korean War Veteran, Dies At 77

Memorial gathering slated for Saturday

Patrick Joseph Ward, age 77, of Manahawkin died on Saturday January 10, 2015 at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills.

Born in Brooklyn and formerly of Ringwood, Patrick moved to Manahawkin in 1990. Mr. Ward had served in the US Army’s 69th Regiment during the Korean War from 1954-1957. He was a self-employed Alarm Service Tech who had belonged to the American Legion, Elks, Rolls Royce Club and the Brant Beach Yacht Club.

Patrick was predeceased by his wife of 40 years Rosaria in 2008 and his sister Maureen in 1985. Surviving are his three sons Kevin, James and Broque, four grandchildren Kebra, Kyla, Kimberly and Jonathan, his sister Eileen Ward, his niece Deidre Taylor and his first wife Annmarie DeMayo.

Cremation was private and under the direction of Riggs Funeral Home, Forked River. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015 beginning at 7 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend may e-mail Patrick’s son Kevin at kevin1ward@yahoo.com for details.
