Patrick Martin Fennell, Former NYPD Detective, Dies At 57

Services for Little Egg Harbor resident shot by SWAT team will be held on Thursday and Friday.

Patrick Martin Fennell, born March 23, 1959 in the Bronx, NY, was a resident of Little Egg Harbor, NJ for the past 14 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Linda (Kutsko), who he adored. He was the beloved son of the late Seamus Fennell and the late Elizabeth (Harrigan) Fennell, and loving son-in-law of John and Clare Kutsko, and Judy and Tom Roselli. He was the cherished brother to Noreen Capozzi (Vincent), Mary Anne Heino (Robert), Kevin Fennell (Gail), Theresa Ravalese (Joseph), Barbara Napolitano and Carol Srebnick (Steven). He was the most adored uncle to Christopher and Katharine Capozzi, Connor and Liam Heino, Abigail Fennell, Joseph, Nicholas and James Ravalese, Sebastian and Joseph Fisichella and Taylor and Hallie Srebnick.

Patrick was a highly decorated and much respected retired member of the NYPD, starting his career in New York City Transit Police and retiring in 2001 as a Lieutenant in the NYPD. Patrick loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and was an avid fan of all sports. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved nephews and nieces, especially teaching them to fish and spending time with his dog Henry.

He was a friend of Bill W. and will be remembered as a supporter of many, who he unselfishly gave of himself to all who needed him. He became a friend to all he met and beloved by all those who knew him. He fiercely loved his family, his friends and his former colleagues. He was proud of his Irish heritage, his nieces and nephews and his career with the NYPD. His life was a testament to the importance of love and friendship that will live on in all those who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday July 21, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. to 10;30 a.m. on Friday, July 22 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor NJ 08087.
