Peggy A. Kircher Of Beach Haven Park Dies At 77

Memorial services for well-known Long Beach Island businesswoman will be held on Saturday.

Peggy A. Kircher of Beach Haven Park on Long Beach Island passed away peacefully with her family nearby on Sept. 15 at Mystic Meadows Nursing Home in Little Egg Harbor Township. She was 77.

Peggy was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and resided on Long Beach Island in New Jersey for 68 years. A graduate of the original Barnegat High School in 1957, she went on to receive a degree at Keystone College.

In 1959, Peggy married the love of her life Robert Kircher. Besides her beloved husband of 58 years, she is survived by her children Jennifer Marcario and her husband Joe; and Karen Rooney and her husband Mike. She also leaves behind three grandchildren Kaitlyn Rooney, Justin Marcario, and Aidan Marcario; and her step-grandchildren Melissa Hunter and her husband Josh; and Brian Rooney and his wife Molly; and four great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law Lillian Parker, her brother Michael Hill, her sisters-in-law Anna Bartlett and husband Ed; Ginny Hill; and Marion Dietz, as well as 10 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Hill, her mother Isla Hill, her stepmother Elsie Hill, her brother Arnold Hill, and her sister Patricia Hill.

After working many years in both the real estate and insurance businesses Peggy became the managing partner of Inman, Kircher, Mcbride Insurance Agency in Harvey Cedars. She was very well respected by her peers and clients and thrived in this business until retiring in 1997. Peggy was a former member and secretary of Soroptimist International, a longtime member and former secretary of Beach Haven Park Yacht Club, a lifetime member at Sea Oaks Golf Club, and a longtime member of Kelly Greens Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers, Florida, where Peggy and Bob spent their winters during retirement.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 24 , following visitation hours from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. at Shinn Funeral Home located at 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (theaftd.org) in Peggy's memory.
