Please Keep An Eye Out For Dog Seen Dumped In Barnegat
Motorist saw a couple on Barnegat Boulevard throw out a pit bull mix, then speed off.

Animal rescue groups are asking residents in Barnegat to watch for a medium-sized brown pit bull mix that a couple threw out of the car, according to the Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Facebook page.
A Barnegat motorist spotted the couple driving slowly on Bengal Boulevard in mid-afternoon on March 4. One of the people opened the back of a hatchbach/SUV type and throw the dog out of the car. . The dog rolled several times, finally pulled himself together, then ran off toward the playground. and into the woods, the post states.
The motorist tried very hard to keep up with the dog, but lost sight of him. The Good Samaritan didn't get the license plate since he was concerned with the got. The Popcorn Park animal control officer searched for the dog, but couldn't find it.

"We will continue this search, but ask that if anyone spots this dog in the area of Bengal Boulevard, please call our facility immediately at 609-693-1900. Also, if you have any information on this incident, please call us as well. If you do come across this dog, please do not chase, do not search for him, as that will push him farther into the woods.
