Plumbing Business Helps Stafford Vietnam Veteran In Need
Ed Johnson Plumbing & Heating donated gift cards to the Coast Guard. Then they found a disabled Vietnam War veteran with no running water.

Local business Ed Johnson Plumbing & Heating started by donating gift cards to the Coast Guard. Then they found a disabled Vietnam War veteran with no running water.
Ed Johnson Plumbing & Heating discovered the veteran had issue with his welling. That falls outside of what their business fixes, but they were able to help someone diagnose the problem at not cost.
"There are companies that charge a service call no matter what," Johnson said. "But we help out people like that from time to time."

The situation started when Ed Johnson's daughter, who works for his business, dropped off about $200 worth of Target gift cards at a Coast Guard Mega Drive. The drive collected donations for service members who aren't receiving pay during the federal government shutdown. They attached their business card to the donations.
Then they got a call from Ashley Stabile, who collected the gift cards for the Coast Guard. Someone alerted Ed Johnson Plumbing & Heating of a disabled Vietnam veteran in Mud City with no running water and little money for a service call. Johnson's business went to the veteran's home to diagnose the problem.
