Riders To Unite In Manahawkin To Cruise For A Cure

All proceeds from Sunday will benefit David's Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation.

MANAHAWKIN, N.J. — Frank V. Panzone Jr. Memorial Cruisin’ for a Cure returns to Manahawkin. All proceeds for the annual motorcycle and classic car run support David's Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation, a Manahawkin-based charity.

This is the eighth year for Cruisin' for a Cure. But the event was renamed in 2013 after Palzone, who died in 2012 after battling stage IV cancer.

According to his obituary, Palzone, 55, dedicated his life to his family, his business and his community. Palzone and his wife Joyce opened Panzone's Pizza in 1980 in Beach Haven and Panzone's Pizza of Surf City in 1984.

"Frank was so giving to his community throughout his life and this was on full display even as he battled stage IV cancer," the event description says. "His spirit, determination and courage in the face of indomitable odds are only a couple of the reasons we are so proud to call this event the Frank V. Panzone Jr Memorial Cruisin for a Cure!"

Cruise registration takes place from 9 to 10:45 a.m. to Beach Haven Moose Lodge in Manahawkin. Cruising begins at 11 a.m.
