Safe Roads Now! Local Petitioner Fights Reckless Driving On The GSP

Prioritize Lives Over Reckless Drivers

(James Syms)

Local resident James Symbouras of Barnegat, NJ has started a formal petition decrying the behavior of bad drivers on the Garden State Parkway. In a statement issued to the press, James expressed her frustration along with other New Jersey residents, their frustration with the reckless driving habits they witnesses daily on the busy highway.

James cited incidents of speeding, weaving in and out of lanes, tailgating, riding the shoulder, and other aggressive maneuvers that put the safety of all motorists at risk. He has called for increased police presence to patrol the parkway and enforcement of traffic laws to address the problem.
Additionally, James encouraged fellow residents to drive carefully and responsibly to ensure the well-being of all individuals on the road. He emphasized the importance of patience and respect while navigating the Garden State Parkway to prevent accidents and maintain a harmonious driving environment.

Not only do we already have a problem with reckless driving on the Garden State Parkway, but now there's a bill that's been proposed that would have the speed limit increased.

New Jersey Senator Declan J. O'Scanlon, Jr. has proposed Bill S1652, also known as the Speed Limit Sanity Act, which would require posted speed limits on some limited access highways to be based on the speed at which 85% of vehicles travel.

For those of us who are responsible drivers and already feel that we already have a problem with reckless driving on the parkway, why should we have to accept a speed increase? They should be putting their efforts to enforcing the current problem at hand. We can't prioritize speed limits over public safety. #LivesMatter

The petition has already gained 733 signatures. James would like to reach a goal of 1,000. Upon reaching that goal, the petition will be forwarded to the lawmakers. James has provided the link below to the the petition if you support the cause.
