School Threats Made By Manahawkin Student: Police
Deven Marino, 18, was charged after making threats to Southern Regional High School while on the school bus, police said.

STAFFORD, NJ — An 18-year-old Southern Regional High School student was charged after threatening school violence on the school bus, police said.
Deven Marino, of Manahawkin, was charged with making terroristic threats after what he said on June 7, Stafford police said.
Marino made a "potential school violence threat" on the bus, but police did not elaborate on what was said.

Marino will not be allowed to return to school, Stafford police said. He is currently lodged in Ocean County Jail.
This incident follows others in Stafford; one where a student made threats on social media and another where a minor brought a loaded gun to a family park.

Det. Erik Smithman and SRO Anthony Vincent led the investigation for the Stafford Township Police Department, and were assisted by Southern Regional School District Administrative Staff and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
Stafford police said that they will not be releasing any further information about the incident.
