the Season of Giving for Tuckerton's Seaport Stitchers
The Seaport Stitchers have been busy distributing their donation quilts and sharing their know how with others at Tuckerton Seaport.
Veteran’s Day 2015, was a very special day for members of the Seaport Stitchers Quilt Guild. Guild members traveled all the way to the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland to make a special delivery of twenty-nine quilts to military veterans in residence at the Vineland facility.
Activities staffer Chris McCracken, accompanied our guild members to the Independence Hall wing of the home where the donations were gratefully received by our servicemen and women. The quilters had the opportunity to present each quilt personally and thank the recipients for their service. The veterans enjoyed sharing their stories of military service and personal recollections.
“It was a privilege to be able to actually meet and talk with the recipients of our handiwork.” said guild member, Jill DeFelice. “They have done so much for us and these quilts are a small thank you to show we care and appreciate all they have done.”
