UPDATE: Sections Of Long Beach Boulevard Closed Due To Flooding
Ocean County Sheriff's Department issues Nixle alert, Surf City police asking motorists to stay off roads.

Long Beach Island residents and visitors should expect Long Beach Boulevard to be flooded from Ship Bottom south again today as storm conditions continue, according to the Long Beach Township Police Department’s Facebook.
Strong winds, rain, beach erosion and flooding are expected to last into Sunday. Low tide today was at 9:30 am. High tide will occur at 3:30 p.m.strong winds, rain, beach erosion and flooding. Theses conditions are likely to last into Sunday. Low tide is at 9:30 am and high tide is at 3:30 pm.

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department issued a Nixle alert on Friday announcing that Long Beach Boulevard was closed between Ship Bottom and Beach Haven due to flooding.
Low-lying areas of Surf City are flooded and sections of Barnegat Avenue were impassable on Friday, according to the Surf City police department Facebook page.

Police ask that drivers avoid Barnegat Avenue and use Central Avenue or the Boulevard instead.
“If you must travel, DO NOT drive through flood waters - they may be deeper than they appear, and there may be hidden dangers underneath (such as debris and/or downed wires) which you cannot see that can damage your vehicle and/or cause personal injury.”
