Shrewsbury Sex Offender, Fugitive Found In Barnegat: Police
Social media shares helped authorities find the man, according to police.

BARNEGAT, NJ — A convicted sex offender who failed to register was found Thursday in a Barnegat home, according to New Jersey State Police. Social media shares led to Marvin Sanders's arrest following NJSP's Facebook post Tuesday asking for the public's help locating him.
Sanders resisted arrested and assaulted a state police detective, NJSP said. He was additionally charged with aggravated assault on law enforcement and resisting arrest, according to police. He was taken to Ocean County Jail, where he awaits a bail detention hearing, authorities said.
Information about the sex offense conviction was not available. Sanders was not listed in the New Jersey Department of Corrections, New Jersey State Police sex offenders databases, or Ocean Count Correctional Facility inmate database Friday morning.
