Southern Ocean EMS techs among recent First Aid Training Center grads
New graduates will join ranks of local squads

Nineteen men and women have been added to the ranks of Emergency Medical Technicians in Ocean and Atlantic counties after completing training at the Fire and First Aid Training Center in Waretown.
The graduates completed 120 hours of training, spent 10 hours in a hospital emergency room, and were called on to pass written, mental and physical tests, according to Freeholder John P. Kelly.
"These men and women will now join with their local first aid squads and emergency medical services,'' explained Freeholder Gerry P. Little, who addressed the graduating class.

Kelly praised the cooperation of area hospitals and Monmouth-Ocean Hospital Service Corps for providing the training.
"The field of emergency medical services in constantly changing. We challenge you to go out there and keep learning,'' said Charles E. Livezey, supervisor of EMS education for MONOC South.

Debbie Henneberry of the Stafford EMS received the John G. Glowacki Award for academic excellence.
The graduates are: Cory Chadwick of the Parkertown Fire Company, Henneberry and Amanda Forziati of the Stafford EMS, Katherine Howard and Ryan Trapp of the Lacey EMS, David Kalin, Donald Kunz and Ian Malinowski of the Island Heights EMS, and Joel Martin and Korii White of the Great Bay Regional EMS.
Also John Scalera of the Jackson EMS, Robert Silagy of the Bamber Lake EMS, Glenn Sorbara of the Barnegat Light EMS, Edward Stawicki of Berkeley Underwater Rescue, Jessica Zambujo of the Lanoka Harbor EMS, Mark Jeffries and Scott Martin of the Egg Harbor City EMS, and Michael Tavares and Markus Calabro, who are not affiliated with an EMS group.
