Stafford K-9 Officers Ollie And Raven Now Sporting Bulletproof Vests

Cedar Run resident Thomas King raised $2,200 in donations to buy vests for the dogs.

Stafford Township K-9 Officers Ollie and Raven are safer on the job, thanks to the donations of many Southern Ocean County businesses and residents.

Cedar Run resident Thomas King decided the dogs needed more protection and launched a campaign to raise money to buy them bulletproof vests, said Lt. James R. Vaughn.

He raised $2,200 for the vests, mostly though donations from local businesses, Stafford Lt. James Vaughn said.

"On his own initiative, Mr. King requested donations from local businesses and they responded making the donations so the department could purchase the K9 vests for the K-9 unit," Vaughn said.
