Stafford Cops, SWAT Team To Conduct 'Active Shooter' Drill At Southern Ocean Medical Center

Drill will run from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Capt. Thomas Dellane says.

You may see an increased police presence on Wednesday morning at Southern Ocean Medical Center, but it's nothing to worry about, Capt. Thomas J. Dellane says.

Members of the Stafford Township Police and the Ocean County Regional SWAT team South will be conducting an "active shooter drill" at the medical center on Wednesday morning, starting at 9:30 a.m., he said.

The area of the drill will be closed off to the public, but residents and visitors to the hospital will observe increased police activity in the area.

"This is only a drill and there is no cause for alarm," he said..

The drill should be complete by 11 a.m.
