All has changed with time, yet, if one travels through the amazing landscapes of America with objective open-minded awareness, as it were, the social, economic, and political demographics, disparities and divisions are apparent. While much is obscured by mass media hypnosis, blind faith in institutional illusions, and by the will of an omnipotent ‘New World Order’, certain stark disturbing conclusions are quite obvious. Whereas millions of people will never realize possible lives in comparative security, identity, and wellbeing. They will not dream of parties in Washington or Hollywood, and they cannot imagine the unimaginable excess and waste within a nation built by blood, sweat, and tears, as they face only despair, addiction, domestic violence, and broken lives. And let us be reminded of the many millions who have not earned the privileges of freedom and opportunity in this once great nation. In this opinion, ‘storm warnings’ have been posted, yet the indifferent degradation of our society continues with no resolution at hand, and as we rush to escapism, there are only radically different views of reality and the glimmer of hope that individual freedom ‘of choice’ does not become an ultimate freedom ‘from choice’.
