There are both military exercises and the New Jersey State Police are detonating explosives, authorities said.

BARNEGAT, NJ — New Jersey State Police and military training exercises have been rattling homes in much of Ocean County Wednesday morning, prompting calls to 911, authorities said.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office and Barnegat Township Police both issued Nixle alerts Wednesday explaining the noise that has been causing reports of rumbling in Stafford, Barnegat, Waretown, Lacey and Berkeley at least.

Barnegat and Waretown police said State Police are detonating ordnance and there are military exercises at the Warren Grove firing range.
