Waretown Man Pleads Guilty To Sexually Assaulting Girl For Six Years
Prosecutor's Office is asking for 13 years in state prison, defense wants five years.

A Waretown man has pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual and one count of sexual assault of a young girl for six years, a spokesman for the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Frederic Whitehead, 45, admitted in Ocean County Superior Court on Feb. 1 that he molested the victim between May 2006 and August 2012. The victim was between ages six and 12 when the sexual assaults occurred, said spokesman Al Della Fave.
The state is requesting 13 years in New Jersey state prison, with no early release, concurrent to 8 years with no early release, parole supervision for life, Megan’s Law registration and no contact with the victim, he said.

Whitehead’s defense lawyer asked for a sentence of 10 years, concurrent with five years in prison, he said.
The case was investigated by Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Lindsay Woodfield and Ocean Township Police Detective Sgt. William Sneddon, Della Fave said.

They arrested Whitehead on July 1, 2013. Debra Giordano from Prosecutor’s Victim Witness Unit also assisted. Witness Senior Assistant Prosecutor Terry Ann Linardakis handled the prosecution for the State.
Whitehead remains in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River on $250,000 cash bail. He will be sentenced after an evaluation at Avenel, Della Fave said
