Women's Suffrage Ratification Anniversary, and a bit about the ERA
Explains our efforts in other States to see the Equal Rights Amendment ratified. A far more detailed article will follow later on. - FJL

“The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.
Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.”
Back in 1920, on August 19th, the 19th Amendment was ratified, having been passed in Congress only June 4th of the previous year. Clock is still ticking away on the Equal Rights Amendment, which has only 2 States to go to be ratified.

Bet they didn’t tell you that in School, did they? The “time clock” that supposedly expired is neither Constitutional, nor part of the actual amendment - it appears, as is said, “before the colon” in the descriptive portion of the legislation, not the legislation itself.
Further, fully five States “rescinded” their ratification vote...which is odd, considering that, Constitutionally speaking, the ratification threshold, once crossed, can only be undone by a further RATIFIED AMENDMENT - like, oh, I don’t know, for example, “Prohibition” and the “Repeal of Prohibition”? That means those ratification votes stand.

Even further, a Governor “Vetoed” his State’s ratification - of course, that, too, was a meaningless effort, as ONLY the State Legislature, duly elected, has any role at all in the Constitutional Law-making process, so there’s another State that has ratified.
We need 2 more. 2 out of 14.
Our organization is running grass roots efforts in no less than five of the remaining States, two of which will be able to use “initiative and referendum” to get it passed in their legislature.
I’m often asked, “What are you doing for the women in this District?”
More than my opponents. Now, YOU KNOW.
