Your Beach Report For June 13, 2016

National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies, cold ocean temperatures.


If you are lucky enough to have the day off, today is looking like a decent beach day, despite cool air and water temperatures.

Skies will be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-70s, according to the National Weather Service.

Beach winds will be from the northwest at around 15 miles per hour. The surf will be from three to four feet, with a north swell from two to three feet.

Surf temperatures will be chilly, in the low 60s.

The rip current risk is low, but strong currents can occur near piers and jetties. Rip currents are possible in other areas, especially during the lower portion of the tide cycle. Swim only in guarded areas where lifeguards are present.

Don't forget the sunscreen. The UVI index is a 9.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet occurred 2:53 a.m. Low tide was at 9:30 am. The next high tide is at 3:40 p.m., followed by low tide at 9:56 P.M.
