Here's Who's Running For Bernards Township Committee In 2022 Primary
Incumbent Committeewoman Janice Fields filed as Republican and Jessica Simpson-Cook filed as a Democrat for the township's only open seat.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Monday was the deadline to file for the upcoming primary election in June. Two candidates have announced their intention to run for the one open Bernards Township Committee seat.
Incumbent Committeewoman Janice Fields filed as Republican and Jessica Simpson-Cook filed as a Democrat for the township's only open seat. They are both unopposed in the primary.
Fields first took office in 2020 and has since served as Committeewoman. She also previously was served as Mayor of Bernards in 2021. See her election profile from 2019 here.

Simpson-Cook previously ran and lost in 2021 for an open seat on the committee on the Democratic ticket along with Sophia Chadda.
Cook is married to her husband Jared Cook for 10 years. She works as a Global Sourcing Manager/Contract Negotiations and Supplier Management and was appointed to Board of the Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills. See her election profile from 2021 here.

New Jersey's primary election will be held on June 8 and the general election on Nov. 2. The one winning candidate will serve a 3-year term on the township committee.
