3 Arrested For Drug Possession In Basking Ridge
Police report making 4 arrests, 3 for drug possession and 1 for hindering and outstanding warrants, according to the police blotter.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Police report making four arrests, three for drug possession and one for hindering and outstanding warrants, according to the police blotter.
Bernards Township Police Blotter:
On Aug. 1: William Viviano, 19 of Masapequa, New York was arrested for drug possession. Viviano locked his keys inside of his vehicle at the King George Exxon at 9:15 p.m. and called police for assistance. When Officer Caparoni unlocked the vehicle, he immediately smelled the odor of marijuana and a quantity under 50 grams was discovered. He was issued a summons for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released.

On Aug. 15: Kaheem Lakins, 42, of Maplewood was arrested for hindering apprehension and outstanding
warrants. At around 12:30 p.m., Lakins was stopped for an equipment violation by Officer Zolnierowski. Lakins gave the officer a false name and date of birth. Once his true identity was determined, several outstanding warrants for his arrest were discovered. He was issued a summons for hindering and transported to Somerset County Jail on the outstanding warrants.
On Aug. 12: Matthew Abel, 33, of Lebanon, was arrested for drug possession. Abel was stopped by Officer Zolnierowski for not having a front license plate. Drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view and a search revealed several folds of heroin. He was issued as summons for possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and released.

On Aug. 12: Sharrod Perrin, 39, of McKinney, Texas was arrested for drug possession. McKinney was stopped by Officer Zolnierowski for an unsafe lane change and failing to signal. During the stop, the odor of marijuana was detected. A search revealed a large zip lock bag containing marijuana. He was issued a summons for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and released.
