6 Cars Burglarized In Basking Ridge Lot
Bernards Township Police also made five drug possession and one criminal mischief arrests recently.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Six cars were reportedly burglarized in Basking Ridge recently, police report.
On Oct. 26 at about 5 p.m., six cars were burglarized in a parking lot off of South Maple Avenue.

On Oct. 11 at 12:14 a.m.: Jacqueline Smith,18, of Perth Amboy was arrested for criminal mischief by Officer Girard at the Lord Stirling School after purposely breaking a window and damaging other items. She was charged on a summons and released pending a court appearance.

On Oct. 17: Derrick Ballard, 28, of Newark was arrested for drug possession following a motor vehicle stop at 2:23 a.m. on Martinsville Road by Officer Aboosamara for an equipment violation. During the stop marijuana and heroin were discovered in his possession. He was charged on a summons and lodged in Somerset County Jail on an unrelated warrant.
On Oct. 25: Nicholas Falcone, 22, of New York was arrested for drug possession after being stopped on Martinsville Road by Officer Mulhall for an equipment violation. Falcone surrendered under 50 grams of marijuana during the stop. He was arrested, charged on a summons, and released pending a court appearance.
On Oct. 26: A mountain bike was found on Spencer Road. Call the police department at 908-766-1122 if you are missing your bike.
On Oct. 30: Matthew Blanchard, 30, of Hillsborough and Daniel Urbanowicz, 35 of Bridgewater were arrested for drug possession after being stopped by Officer Zolnierowski on I-78 for failing to maintain a lane. During the stop, heroin and paraphernalia were discovered. Both were arrested, charged on a summons, and released pending a court appearance.
On Oct. 31: Edward Griffith of Newark was arrested for drug possession after being stopped by Officer Caparoni in Pleasant Valley Park after the park had closed. During the encounter, under 50 grams of marijuana was discovered in his possession. He was arrested, charged on a summons, and released pending a court appearance.
The Bernards Township Police would like to continue to remind everyone to report suspicious activity observed by calling 908-766-1122. And to keep vehicles locked and valuables out of sight. Pay particular attention to suspicious activity at neighbors’ homes.
