Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation's Annual Golf Invitational Raises $155,000 for N.J. Charities

Affinity Federal Credit Union teed up a day of golf to raise money for local charities.

Basking Ridge, N.J. (June 23, 2016) – On Monday, June 13, 2016, the Affinity Federal Credit Union (AFCU) Foundation hosted its 19th Annual Golf Invitational, raising a record $155,000 for local, grassroots charities across the state of New Jersey.

Held at the Stanton Ridge Golf and Country Club, the AFCU Foundation’s Golf Invitational has experienced tremendous growth since its inception. This exclusive, invitation-only event has seen a 500 percent increase in funds raised over the last 19 years, which aids various N.J. charities including Hope for Veterans, the Adult Day Center of Somerset County, Elijah’s Promise, and the Interfaith Food Pantry.

“Giving back to the local communities is built into the very fabric of Affinity’s goals and mission,” says Dr. Lauretta Farrell, the Foundation’s Executive Director. “Every year I’m overwhelmed by the generosity of our attendees to help us fulfill that mission and truly improve the financial lives of our neighbors.”
