Summer Maintenance Closures, Detours Underway At Bernards Township Schools

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Summer closures and detours are underway at Bernards Township Schools.

At Ridge High School, the Lee Field artificial turf and track facility will be closed this summer while maintenance work is completed and a new track is installed.

A reopening date for the facility was not disclosed.

The Board of Education awarded a contract on Jan. 26 to ATT Sports, Inc. for $841,665 for the Ridge High School Track Replacement Project. ATT Sports had the lowest bid on the project.

At Cedar Hill Elementary School, the school roof is being redone this summer.

The Board also awarded a contract on June 24 to the lowest bid submitted by TNT Construction Group, LLC for $2,383,000 for the roof replacement project.

The district said no student programs are running at the school and asked families to keep students off the Cedar Hill school property and playground.

There will be heavy machinery, odors, and hot materials at the school.

At Oak Street Elementary School, parking lots are being redone this summer.

The district said no student programs are being held at the school during the work.

Adult visitors conducting business at the main office of Cedar Hill and Oak Street are asked to be mindful of posted signs detouring people or closing off certain areas.
