Application Deadline Extended For Leadership Somerset

Adults who live or work in Somerset County have additional time to submit their online applications for the Class of 2021. The deadline has been extended until Monday, Nov. 16. Information about applying to Leadership Somerset can be found at http://bit.ly/LSApply2021.

Benefits of the program include networking with community leaders, learning more about Somerset County and making an impact in the community.
“I am a proud Leadership Somerset alum and I invite people to learn more about this wonderful, diverse program,” said Freeholder Melonie Marano, program liaison. “Each session provides an opportunity to network with local leaders and learn more about county services and resources.”

“The program is held one day a month, beginning in January, and each session focuses on a different topic. Participants will interact with local leaders on topics like government, economy, justice and public safety, human services, community health and the environment,” said Freeholder Sara Sooy, alternate program liaison. “Throughout the year, class members will discuss capacities of positive leadership and may enjoy class trips, which offer new perspectives and access to a variety of resources.”

The majority of the cost to attend the year-long adult leadership program is underwritten by the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Leadership Somerset participants are asked to contribute a program fee of $375 for the year, which covers participation in all sessions, materials and meals.
