Basking Ridge Home Reportedly Burglarized
A Basking Ridge woman was also arrested for being a fugitive from justice, according to the police blotter.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A Basking Ridge home was reportedly burglarized recently, according to police.
Between Aug. 16 and Aug. 19, a home on Berta Place was burglarized. Forced entry was made into the home and several personal items were stolen, Bernards Township Police report.

On Aug. 23: A Hamburg man was arrested for soliciting without a permit. Kenneth Murphy, 58, was
stopped on Fairview Drive South by Officer Baldassare for soliciting for an asphalt company without the
required township permit. He was arrested, served with a summons for the offense, and released.

On Aug. 22: A Basking Ridge woman was arrested for being a fugitive from justice. Christine Sonderby,
52, was wanted out of Twin Falls, Idaho for failing to appear for felony driving while intoxicated. She
was arrested at her Cedar Street home and transported to Somerset County Jail on the warrant with
$50,000 cash bail.
On Aug. 26: A Middlesex man was arrested for DWI. Officers responded to the 3200 block of Valley Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Officers arrested 53-year-old Francis Grausso after a roadside investigation determined he was driving while intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and careless driving. and released on a summons pending a court appearance.
On Aug. 25: An Elizabeth man was arrested for DWI and driving with a suspended license. Rajohn Saxon, 45, was discovered on South Finley Avenue with a flat tire. Officer Aboosamara conducted a roadside
investigation and determined Saxon had been driving while intoxicated He was charged with DWI, refusing to submit to a breath test, driving while suspended, and several other violations. He was released on a summons pending a court appearance.
On Aug. 25: A Plainfield man was arrested for hindering his own apprehension. Darwin Chavez, 25, was stopped by Officer Caparoni for following too closely. Chavez did not have valid identification in his possession and gave the officer a false name and date of birth. Chavez’ true identity was eventually determined and he was arrested. Chavez was charged with hindering apprehension, following too closely, and driving without a license. He was released pending a court appearance.
