Basking Ridge Local Among 3 Charged In Connection Of Theft

3 Bridgewater locals were also arrested on charges including for driving while intoxicated, shoplifting and being a wanted person: Blotter.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A Basking Ridge woman was among three to be arrested and charged in connection with a theft in Bridgewater, police report.

On March 25, an employee of Auntie Anne’s at the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported the theft of an iPad valued at $400.

During the investigation, Jawan King, 23, of North Plainfield, Luquan Henderson, 24, of East Brunswick and Christina Muniz, 18, of Basking Ridge were arrested, Bridgewater Police report.

King was charged with theft of movable property, Henderson was charged with defiant trespassing and Muniz was charged with receiving stolen property, police report.

All three were processed for their arrest and released with a pending court appearance.

On March 18: A resident of Garretson Road reported that their mailbox had been intentionally damaged.Officers arrived in the area and discovered that additional mailboxes on Stony Brook Drive and RollingHills Road were damaged as well. It appears that the actor(s) struck these mailboxes with a blunt object, possibly a baseball bat.

On March 22: A resident of Sloan Court reported the theft of an outdoor lawn swing valued at $399.
Officers arrived on Sloan Court, and arrested Jason Papatyi, 30, and Raquel Pariente, 27, both of
North Plainfield for the theft. Both Papatyi and Pariente were charged with theft of movable property.
They were processed for the arrest and released with a pending court appearance.

On March 23: Henry Lu, 62, of Bridgewater was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) after
he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Forest Avenue. Lu was processed for the arrest and
issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated (DWI), careless driving and failure to
stop at a stop sign. He released with a pending court appearance.

On March 24 at 11:20 p.m.: Kyle Hughes, 20, of Middlesex was arrested for possession of a
controlled dangerous substance (CDS), after he was observed loitering in Washington Valley Park after
hours. After being processed for the arrest, Hughes was issued the following motor vehicle summonses
and criminal complaints: possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS
in a motor vehicle, possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle and loitering in a park
after hours. He was released with a pending court appearance.

On March 24: Casey Helms, 26, of Martinsville and Joseph Derissio, 20, of Wayne were arrested during a motor vehicle collision investigation on Route 202-206 South. Helms was arrested for being a wanted person from Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office and for obstructing administration of law. Derissio was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia and for obstructing administration of law. Both were processed for their arrest. Helms was released to the custody of the Middlesex County Sherriff’s Department and Derissio was released with a pending court appearance.

On March 25: Nora Birk, 56, of Bridgewater was arrested for shoplifting merchandise with an approximate value of $104 from Wegman’s at the Bridgewater Towne Center. Birk was charged with shoplifting and defiant trespassing. She was processed for the arrest and released with a pending court appearance.

On March 26: Jose Diaz, 28, of Princeton Junction was arrested for shoplifting merchandise with an approximate value of $209 from Wegman’s at the Bridgewater Towne Center. Diaz was charged with shoplifting. He was processed for the arrest and released with a pending court appearance.

On March 28 at approximately 11 a.m.: A resident of Bergenfield reported that his vehicle had been
burglarized while parked at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Unknown actor(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet, Samsung Galaxy S5 cellular telephone and a Garmin GPS unit.
