Basking Ridge Local Assaulted While Walking Dog, Police Report
The 68-year-old township man reported 2 men asked for directions then began striking him with their fists unprovoked on Saturday morning.

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — A Bernards Township man reported he was attacked by two men while walking his dog on Saturday morning.
The 68-year-old resident said he was in the area of Vail Terrace at around 5 a.m. on Nov. 10 when he saw a suspicious vehicle parked near his home while he walked his dog minutes earlier, according to Bernards Township Police Chief Mike Shimsky.
The victim reported that two men got out of the vehicle and approached him asking for directions. Both men then began striking him with their fists unprovoked, according to the report.

The victim was able to fight off the men off, who then fled in their vehicle toward Mount Airy Road, police report.
The two suspects are described as young white men wearing dark clothing and possibly having Spanish accents. The vehicle is described as a black or dark blue sedan.

Preliminary investigation indicates this is an isolated incident. The matter remains under
investigation by the police department.
