Basking Ridge Man Sentenced to 11 Years in State Prison for 2014 Crime Spree

Hardwick Stires, 21, robbed four businesses over the course of three days in Dec. 2014.

A Basking Ridge man was sentenced on Friday to 11 years in state prison for four armed robberies, according to the New Jersey Herald.

In June, Hardwick Stires, 21, admitted to committing a crime spree in Dec. 2014 and pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree armed robbery, the report said.

On Dec. 1, 2014, Stires robbed Roserne Liquors in Kinnelon and the Delta Gas Station in Wantage. On Dec. 2, 2014, he robbed the Plains Pharmacy in Franklin and on Dec. 3, 2014, he robbed the Quick Chek in Hampton. Stires was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree armed robbery, one count of third-degree terroristic threats, two counts of third-degree theft, one count of fourth-degree theft and three counts of possession of an imitation firearm after a three-day crime spree.

Judge William J. McGovern decided that Stires isn’t eligible for parole until he serves 85 percent of his sentences and pays $2,938 in restitution, according to the report. Stires must also serve five years of parole supervision once he’s released and has to pay $820 in fines and fees.
